Why Interior Design?

My First Interior Design Mood Board

My First Interior Design Mood Board

I just completed my first interior design mood board for the Interior Design Institute, and I am grateful for the excellent mentors guiding me. :)

Some people ask why I am studying interior design with my background in architecture and digital arts. It is all about deeper understanding and building better systems.

Here are the key reasons why I am doing this:

  • Bridging the Gap: I believe architecture and interior design should work more closely together. By understanding both sides, we can share knowledge and create better design outcomes. Having both teams collaborate in the same space would be incredibly valuable.

  • Understanding the Engine: My business supports interior designers, so it is vital that I truly understand their systems, processes, and tools. To offer them the best solutions, I need to experience their workflow firsthand.

  • Solving Real Problems: Being "part of the tribe" allows me to see the challenges designers face with their current systems. This hands-on knowledge is how I analyze and develop faster, more efficient, and effective ways of working.

My ultimate goal is to help interior design colleagues improve their workflow and achieve three key benefits:

  • Free Up Design Time: Automate repetitive tasks so they can focus on creative exploration.

  • Increase Impact: Make processes more efficient and powerful, allowing them to showcase better work and express their vision clearly.

  • Improve Well-being: Help create a happier, less stressful work environment that leads to more meaningful work and happier clients.

Excited to apply this knowledge to help streamline the industry!
